You are allowed to celebrate with crackers for two hours only- Supreme Court

Supreme Court allowed Hindus to celebrate the Diwali festival with crackers but curbed the time duration and allows only 2 hour period between 8 PM to 10 PM as the time for bursting crackers. It has also banned sale of crackers through online portals like Amazon, Flipkart etc. They also added going forward government should set aside place for bursting crackers as it is in practice in some of the western countries.

While it comes as a huge relief to traders, it is another setback for Hindus as the SC continues to control how the Hindu festivals are celebrated. SC has come up with another judgment even before the controversy over the Sabarimalai case has died down. How the rule going to be implemented is big headache for the government officials.
