Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah’s (God’s) command to sacrifice his son. festival of Muslims all over the world starts from August 21 evening and will continue till August 22 evening. Muslims around the world observe this event.The festival, also called the Festival of Sacrifice and commonly known as Bakri Eid. Regardless, these events are remembered and celebrated at Eid al-Adha.
The festival is filled with a lot of fun and laughter as children are given ‘Eidi’ in the form of money, sweets, gifts etc. They receive blessings from elders. On this day, a goat is sacrificed and the meat is shared as a feast among friends and families, special treats to the poor are also given.
