India wins a test match in Australia after 2007-08 series
Indian team managed to hang on for the test victory after a decade in Australia. Their last victory came in WACA, Perth in the ill fated controversial series in 2007-08 when Kumble lead them. India went win less in the two subsequent tours, but managed to break the sequence now. Nobody gave them chance after horror batting show in the 1st session. Indian bowlers bowled well in the 1st innings to allow them to have small lead and then batted well in the second innings even though they would have loved to have luxury of few more runs than what they eventually managed.
They bowled tirelessly over after over on final day when all the Australian batsmen tried to negotiate the ball well and score with the loose ball. But they refused to get defeated and eventually took all the wickets just before the tea break. It is an all round performance from the bowlers where all of them got the wickets but major credit should go to Pujara for his century in the first innings and a well crafted fifty in the 3rd innings of the match. With early lead in the series, it is time for Indians to go for kill in the new stadium in Perth which is going to host the 2nd test match starting on 14th December.
