India stuns world no 2 Argentina in Champions trophy

India continued their winning spree against Argentina yesterday. Earlier, they have crushed arch rivals Pakistan by 4-0 in the tournament opener. After the disappointment in Commonwealth games where they finished fourth, Hockey players have started well in the Champions trophy in the Netherlands. It has to be noted though Indians have won many Olympic medals, they never managed to win the Champions Trophy.

Indians scored both their goals in the second quarter of the match with Harmanpreet scoring from the penalty corner and Mandeep at the stroke of the halftime. Sardar Singh who was playing his 300th international match yesterday controlled the midfield well even though comeback man Ramandeep Singh was missing from action due to the knee injury. This victory will be shot in the arm for the Indian team who is eager to win this edition of the Champions Trophy.
