India lost again to Australia in the Champions Trophy Final
India played well throughout the final but yet again finished 2nd best in the Champions Trophy. On the day when the forwards were fantastic in creating numerous opening by outplaying the Australian defenders, it’s the drag flickers who disappointed on the important occasion. India missed 3 chances through penalty corners in the first half itself while Australians converted their only chance to lead by a solitary goal when the teams went out for the breather.
Indians feeling the pressure stepped up the gas and began to attack the Australian goal post more vigorously. 17 Year old Vivek scored the all important goal for India to make the scores level. India created a lot of opportunities after the first goal but they were not able to put it behind the Australian Goalkeeper who with some luck defended well. When the game went into shootouts Indians were outplayed by the Aussies scored 3 times while India was able to hit the post only once. Australia won their 15thChampions Trophy title with the win.
