India beat England by 8 wickets in 1st T20I

India has started their England tour with a resounding victory in the 1st T20 match held at Old Trafford. Indian captain Kohli won the toss and asked England to bat first keeping with India’s preference to Chase whatever the score the opponent scores. England openers Roy and Butler scored freely and soon they have reached 50 within the power play. But once Umesh took Roy’s wicket England slowed down with hales struggling to score. Spinners took the center stage and Kuldeep Yadav began to spin the web around the England batsmen who were clueless in dealing with his deliveries. First Hales lost his stumps while trying to sweep and then England skipper holed out to Kohli while trying to hit Kuldeep out of the ground. Most satisfying wickets would be the wickets of Bairstow and Root as both of not able to read the length and in which direction ball going to turn got dragged out of the crease and Dhoni completed the formalities.

David Willey’s late strike took England to 159 but that never going to be challenging to the Indian batting lineup. Once dropped early in the innings, KL Rahul took full toll of the England bowling as India cantered home in the 19th over. It may sound tight chase with the victory coming so late but England never was in the match once KL Rahul got going as he dismantled both the spinners and pacers. Next match is Scheduled on Friday in Cardiff.
