Chennai has been given red alert as Cyclone Gaja is going intensify in 24 hours
A deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal has been intensified as Cyclonic Storm and expected to cross North Tamilnadu and South Andhrapradesh between Cuddalore and Sri Harikotta on 1th November 15th which is on Thursday as per the news bulletin released by State med office.
Named as “Gaja” , currently lies 860 Kms away from chennai and moving at 12 kmph and expected to intensify further in 24 hours. Gales reaching 80-90 Kmph expected over tamilnadu, south andrapradesh and puduchery.
Government has ordered all the departments to prepare for the relief work and even though they are expecting it to weaken when it cross the coast, they are expecting widely to fetch good amount of rain fall for Chennai which is going through dry rain season.
Chennai did not receive any decent rain fall this season and most of the people are going to welcome this cyclone as a relief to hot weather even deep into the rain season.
