Bio metric authentication to be mandatory for buying goods in Ration shops

Lot of people who have free rice ration card are not purchasing the rice from the ration shop, instead give their ration card to their domestic workers or those in nearby areas to buy for them. Also, some people who buy like this sell those rice to the shop resulting in loss to the government. One more problem is ration shop people shows that unsold items as sold to customer but sells that to the shop keepers to earn profit.

To avoid these, government is going to make it mandatory to have the bi metric authentication which has been connected to Aadhar to verify the originality of the card owners. From October 15th onwards either the head of the family or those whose name is in the card only can purchase items from the ration shops
