Online Medicine sales hit yet another road block
Delhi High court banned issued orders to ban sales of medicines through websites and app throughout India. In a case filed by a skin specialist Zhakir Ahmed, Delhi high court issued the ban and prompted the Central government and State governments to ensure there is no sales done through online mode. In his petition Zakir has complained that most of the people buy medicine without the prescription from the doctor and also has said most of the medicines sold through the websites and apps are not approved for sale. Based on this and earlier cases, court has issued the ban. This comes as a stumbling block for draft presented by the health minister in September for legalizing the online medicine sale.
